Russia and Belarus should strive to maintain brotherly relations, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
In greeting to mark the Day of unity of peoples of Russia and Belarus, said that “countries have a special, time-tested, fraternal and partnership relations. To preserve and increase this heritage is our common responsibility”.
Congratulation of the Prime Minister with his Belarusian counterpart, Andrei Kobyakov published on the website of the Russian government. The report also says that “in the Union state of Russia and Belarus reached a high level of integration.”

The Prime Minister said that it was important for countries to shape a positive agenda of cooperation to develop constructive solutions to actual problems, including in the framework of the Eurasian economic Union. “The day of unity of peoples of Belarus and Russia” is celebrated on April 2. On the eve of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appealed to the citizens of the two countries. He said that the project of the Union revealed the potential for the development of the economies of Belarus and Russia. Lukashenko also believes that due to the high level of trust between Moscow and Minsk “closely cooperate in the field of foreign and security policy”.
Lukashenka believes that “the scale of the achievement should not be taken as a given”, as some test of strength “are finding their fragility”.

It said the President “appreciated the results of the integration of cooperation in political, trade-economic, scientific-technical, humanitarian and other spheres”.
