Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev approved requirements for transport security, including antiterrorist protection of objects of the underground. The document published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document establishes requirements to ensure transport security modes of transport, sets requirements to antiterrorist protection of objects and the system of “security levels” for different categories of transport infrastructure objects and vehicles.
In particular, the government is supposed to protect metro against terrorism to form a “rapid response team” — a well – equipped mobile teams that will be tasked with responding to sophisticated attacks and their prevention.
In addition, the document proposes to “assess the vulnerability of objects of the underground”, to draw a plan of all metro facilities based on their vulnerability, and then to work to eliminate unprotected areas.
