Trump explained the preservation of the runway when hitting the air base in Syria

The President of the United States Donald trump explained why the U.S. military’s strikes on the airbase Shirt by Syrian government forces did not bomb the runway.

“The reason usually do not strike at the runways, is that they are easy and inexpensive to recover quickly,” wrote trump on his Twitter page.

Earlier, Secretary of state USA Rex Tillerson, commenting on the attack on Syrian air base, said that the us military is not aimed at the complete destruction of the runway (runway) airfield. He explained that according to the military, the runway was strong enough to withstand a missile strike. Therefore, the aim of a missile strike was the infrastructure of the airfield and were on the planes, explained the Secretary of state.

Earlier on Saturday, trump congratulated the participants of the missile attack on the base Shirt. “Congratulations to our great military men and women, because they are so well presented, the United States and the world; the attack on Syria,” wrote trump.

Early morning of April 7th, the ships of naval forces of the United States released a 59 cruise missiles “Tomahawk” at the air base to the government troops of President Bashar al-Assad. The strike was a response to the alleged chemical attack in the province of Idlib, the responsibility for which Washington has laid on Assad’s forces.
