The foreign Ministry explained the refusal of Johnson’s visit from a misunderstanding of the situation in Syria


The decision of the Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain Boris Johnson to abandon the trip to Moscow demonstrates a “fundamental misunderstanding or ignorance of what is happening in Syria.” This is stated in the comments of the Department of information and press of MFA of Russia.

“There is a fundamental misunderstanding or ignorance of what is happening in Syria, Russia’s efforts to resolve the crisis, and the purpose of diplomacy”, — stressed in the Russian dipvedomstva.

The foreign Ministry also suggested that currently of Johnson’s other priorities, “namely, a discussion with partners in the “seven” of the situation in Syria and “Russian support of the Assad regime”.
