The head of the national Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva resigned


Chairman of the national Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva has submitted his resignation may 10, 2017. The text of the statement posted on the website of the national Bank of Ukraine.

“As promised, I inform you about my resignation in advance — a month”, — said Gontareva. She stated that her “mission accomplished” as “the country switched to a flexible exchange rate”, “the beginning of a new monetary policy inflation targeting”, have cleared the banking system from insolvent banks and transformed the national Bank, which, according to her, has become a “powerful modern organization.”

According to her, she also invited the President of Ukraine a few “candidates of possible successors”.

The statement noted that other changes to the Bank’s management Board and in the policies of the Central Bank of Ukraine, in the near future is not expected.
