Yevgeny Roizman to run for Governor of Sverdlovsk region


Mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman declared intention to run for Governor of Sverdlovsk region. He wrote about this in his microblog on Twitter.

“Go to the governors of the Sverdlovsk region. Here I have not lost any one election,” he wrote.

Earlier today, President Vladimir Putin issued a decree approving the resignation of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvasheva. The Governor left the post at his own request and was immediately appointed President of the acting the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region until elections in September 2017.

Kuyvashev held a post of the Governor of Sverdlovsk area from may 2012, prior to that, he was Plenipotentiary of the President in the Urals Federal district (2011-2012), the mayor of Tyumen (2007-2011) and Tobolsk (2005-2007).
