Russia regrets that the United States continues Russophobic campaign

PORVOO (Finland), may 4 — RIA Novosti. Moscow regrets that the United States continues Russophobic campaign, launched even under Barack Obama, said Thursday the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

“Unfortunately, at a time when there was a change of administration in the White house, our relations were at a very low point, as the Obama administration did everything possible to undermine. Sadly, that waged by the Obama administration Russophobic campaign maintains its momentum in the United States today,” Lavrov said after talks with foreign Minister of Finland Timo Soini.

However, he noted that “we want to develop relations with any country, think positive, develop a normal, pragmatic, mutually beneficial ties.”

“We understand that during the election campaign, the now President (of the USA Donald — ed.) trump were approximately the same positions for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries, including with Russia. The corresponding attitude was confirmed during a recent telephone conversation of the President (Vladimir) Putin and President of the trump” — said the Russian Minister.
