The U.S. house of representatives adopted a budget for the remainder of the fiscal year

Moscow. May 4. INTERFAX.RU – the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress on Wednesday approved a bill on the adoption of the Federal budget for the remainder of the fiscal year, which expires on 30 September 2017. Voted for the document 309 congressmen, against – 118, a bill sent for approval to the Senate.

The Federal budget will amount to about 1.1 trillion dollars.

As informs Agency Associated Press, the President of the United States Donald trump in the case of approval of the bill by the Senate, will sign the document.

On 2 may representatives of both parties of Congress reached an agreement on the Federal budget for the remaining five months of the current fiscal year.

The agreement was preceded by several weeks of heated debate, which, as feared by many experts, could lead to the temporary suspension of the work of authorities and agencies in connection with absence of financing (shutdown).

During the presidency of Barack Obama a few times there were budget crises, because the Democratic party was not the majority among lawmakers, said the BBC. The last shutdown occurred in 2013 and lasted 17 days. The work of the state institutions were suspended, Federal employees had to go on forced leave, closed national parks, etc.

Now the White house and Congress controlled by the Republican party, from which D. trump was elected President. However, the adoption of the budget need 60 votes in the Senate, where Republicans have a 52 seats.
