MOSCOW, may 17. /TASS/. The Russian government supported the bill on tax exemption for lump-sum payments to citizens eligible for social assistance. The corresponding conclusion of the government of the Russian Federation published on the official website of the Cabinet.
“The bill proposes to establish in the Tax code that the amount of lump sum payments (including in the form of material assistance) which are available to the taxpayers who are entitled to social assistance, are not subject to tax on income of physical persons”, – is spoken in the message of the government.
The draft Federal law “On introducing amendments to article 217 of the Tax code of the Russian Federation” introduced to the State Duma, the Moscow regional Duma.
According to the bill proposed to delete from paragraph 8 of article 217 of the RF Tax code provision containing reference to the annual approval of the state authorities of programs under which taxpayers are provided with social assistance, as well as to envisage the possibility of exemption from taxation of the amounts of social assistance, carried out in accordance with programmes approved by local authorities.
