Rogozin: Russia is a peaceful country, but is ready to respond to any aggression


VLADIVOSTOK, may 20. /TASS/. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin expressed confidence that Russia is able to respond to any aggression from the outside, at the same time remaining completely peaceful state.

“Russia – the country is certainly absolutely peaceful. For us the most important thing is to preserve the security of our borders and our allies. But we have weapons systems that can respond to any enemy,” he said in the program “Vesti on Saturday with Sergei Brilev” on TV channel “Russia 1”.

In addition, as noted by Deputy Prime Minister, Russia should be able to respond to threats to its security that should ensure that the latest technological developments in the field of strategic weapons. “Therefore, we will repel any aggression potential opponents is not a large number, and great skill and mobility of our armed forces,” he concluded.

Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at meeting on formation of the project equipment of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation until 2025 stated that the new state armaments Program for 2018-2025 years will allow to increase the combat potential of the armed forces.

At the end of 2015, the defense Ministry announced the start of work on new armaments program for the period until 2025, the Head of the Ministry Sergei Shoigu said that the cost of the program will reach 30 trillion. the New document is expected to be approved in the summer of 2017.

Russia intends to start production of smart weapons according to the new state armaments program until 2025, said Rogozin.

“The new armaments program is an innovative program that includes new approaches: the creation of smart weapons, automated control systems, communications and intelligence, updating the space group. Will we have modern communications, air and ground unmanned vehicle”, – he said.

Rogozin added that over time, Russia also plans to abandon the modernization of old weapons, because “it stops the development of the new programme of armaments”. “We refuse the modernization of old weapons. Although I must say that upgrading is the same normal phenomenon as the creation of new models. But modernization should not be infinite,” explained the Vice Premier.
