MOSCOW, may 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants, organisers and guests of St. Petersburg international economic forum, which will take place in June. The head of state proposed to discuss on this site questions such as the incipient growth of the world economy after the crisis, as well as modern challenges and risks, including the introduction of new technologies.
“The world economy for the first time in the last few years is beginning to show signs of overcoming the recession,” Putin said in the greeting, the text of which is published on the official SPIEF website. “The Forum will discuss how to consolidate the emerging trends and to assess the challenges and risks associated with the introduction of new technologies”, – he stressed. “What is happening today, large-scale changes require from the world community effective measures to improve the international governance architecture, in order, through the agreed steps to achieve distribution of the benefits of globalization for all segments of the population and thereby ensure a sustainable and balanced development”, – said the President.
Putin noted that the forum was “recognized platform of world level, open to straight, interested dialogue participants on current issues”. “I am confident that the decisions taken in the course of the forum the initiatives and recommendations will contribute to the development of a common and consolidated approach, and concluded on the sidelines of the forum the contracts and agreements will serve the development of international cooperation, the launch and implementation of new mutually beneficial projects,” – said the head of state.
SPIEF will be held from 1 to 3 June 2017 in St. Petersburg. This year the forum will be combined with the motto “In search of a new balance in the global economy”.
