Zyuganov was reelected Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist party


MOSCOW, may 27. /TASS/. Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov, re-elected Chairman of the Central Committee (CC) of the party. The decision made by the Central Committee Plenum following the Congress party.

On Saturday in Moscow hosted the 17th regular Congress of the Communist party, which was elected the new Central Committee members. After that, the plenary elected the governing bodies for the next four years.

Zyuganov leads the party since its creation in 1993.

Also, the source in the party said that the post of the Vice-presidents re-elected Vladimir Kashin and Dmitry Novikov, Valery Rashkin was not re-elected, his place was taken by Yuri Afonin.

“At the organizational Plenum of the party today re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee Vladimir Kashin and Dmitry Novikov, was elected Yuriy Afonin,” – said the Agency interlocutor. It is noted that Rashkin was part of the Presidium. The Presidium also included the mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot.

“Expanded Bureau and the Secretariat of the Central Committee, including young politicians of the Communist party, who in this capacity has taken place. Andrey Klychkov (head of the Communist party faction in the Moscow city Duma), who was a member of the Presidium, will now be Secretary of the Central Committee of the party” – said Novikov.
