Reasons for failure the company is not disclosed. As explained in the “MegaFon”, the failure affected customers in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. Details of the crash emerged Tuesday afternoon from subscribers who complained of the inability to make calls and access the Internet.
On may 19 the network of “MegaFon” has been the largest in the history of the company failure. Subscribers of “MegaFon” and its subsidiaries Yota (works on networks of “MegaFon”) was unavailable voice communication and Internet access due to technical network issues. The accident affected the residents of the capital and Central regions and the Volga region.
The cause of the accident was the failure of the software on one of the key system elements of the network of “MegaFon”, the problem arose because of an error in software Hewlett-Packard, installed in the data processing systems of the company. The company did not disclose the number of subscribers affected due to the accident on the networks “the Megaphone” does not assess losses against the background of failure.
