Moscow. June 15. INTERFAX.RU Italian Eni does not rule out the possibility of becoming a shareholder of “Turkish stream”, said the Director for the storage and transportation of gas, Vice President, Eni Massimo Mantovani.
He noted that now “Gazprom” and Eni discuss the change of the terms of the contract on gas supplies, which is currently an Italian company receives from the Austrian pipeline TAG and the possible supply through the southern corridor.
According to him, the parties discuss the change in all aspects of the contract: flexibility, price, and more. The objective of Eni is to reduce the price of Russian gas supplies.
“We know that Gazprom is examining several options for the southern sector (transportation of gas to the South-East of Europe – if): Poseidon, TAP, “South Stream”, said Mantovani.
He noted that Eni will choose the best solution between supply at the current route TAG and the southern routes.
Answering the question about the potential availability of Eni to become a shareholder of “Turkish stream”, M. Mantovani, said: “We are discussing with Gazprom a General framework of cooperation and the debate is not over, we can’t say whether it will or not. We discussed several topics, from the southern sector (supply – if) to the gas contract”.
“In the end, it (the establishment of Eni shareholder of “Turkish stream – if) maybe, but now we have to look at the whole picture of the negotiations. Until we have a complete picture, we do not focusareas on specific things. We do not exclude anything, but nothing else is agreed” – he said.
