Over 500 officials sacked in Russia at the insistence of the Prosecutor’s office for anti-corruption violations


MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. Russian Prosecutor General’s office made the dismissal in connection with loss of trust for violations of anti-corruption standards more than 500 officials over the past two years. This was announced at a press conference in Moscow the Deputy chief of Department for supervision over execution of legislation on combating corruption of the Russian Prosecutor General’s office Mr Aslan Yusufov.

From 1 January 2018 and shall enter into force the law on the registry of persons dismissed in connection with loss of trust for violations of anti-corruption legislation.

“In 2016, only the requirements of the prosecutors were dismissed on these grounds in connection with loss of trust 383 persons. This is three times more than in the year 2015 – said Yusufov. – In the first quarter of this year, was dismissed in connection with loss of trust [on materials of the Prosecutor’s office] for 62 persons.”

“Most of them – over 66% were persons who had been dismissed at the municipal level. More than 190 of them were in leadership positions, heads of municipalities, etc.”

Officials fail false Declaration

According to Yusufov, officials often subject to dismissal in connection with loss of trust for anti-corruption violations for false Declaration of assets.

The representative of the Prosecutor General recalled that for dismissal with the formulation “in connection with loss of trust” may be various grounds, including the participation of civil servants in commercial activities, including affiliation with a foreign company.

“We have analyzed this practice in 2016, about 70% dismissed in connection with loss of trust – 266 of 383 [dismissed after consideration of the materials of the Prosecutor’s office] was dismissed due to a failure to provide or providing false information about income, expenses, property and obligations of property character, – said Yusufov. And about 15% are dismissed in connection with the unresolved conflict of interest [when the official or his relatives have personal interests in the area that he is responsible]”.

Because the law is not retroactive in the public registry of persons dismissed in connection with loss of trust for violations of anti-corruption legislation, which will be conducted in 2018, will get only those who will be fired with this wording since the beginning of the register.
