Putin called the sanctions a disguised form of protectionism


Moscow. July 5. INTERFAX.RU – Unilateral politically motivated sanctions are contrary to the promoted “group of twenty” principles of interaction in the international arena, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The previous economic model is almost exhausted, protectionism becomes the norm, and its become a disguised form of unilateral politically motivated sanctions in trade and investment. Including technology,” he writes in an article in the German newspaper Handelsblatt on the eve of his trip to Hamburg to participate in the summit of “twenty”.

“In our view, such sanctions are not only futile, but contrary to the promoted “twenty” principles of cooperation in the interests of all countries”, – said the Russian leader.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, only open based on uniform norms and standards trade relations and stimulate the growth of the global economy, contributing to the progressive development of bilateral relations.
