Yabloko, the mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman said that withdrawing from the Governor’s campaign as it cannot pass the municipal filter. He stated this at a joint press conference with the founder of the party Grigory Yavlinsky.
“Municipal filter impassable. I am faced with this. When I went out to collect signatures, there was no mathematical number to the desired” — said Roizman.
Earlier the politician, and close to it the source told RBC that the politician intends to appeal the legitimacy of the municipal filter in the constitutional court. Against the practice of collecting signatures for local candidates is not just made by the Chairman of the “Yabloko” Emilia Slabunov. For example, it is proposed to abandon the filter at a meeting with representatives of the presidential administration at the end of June.
Before the press conference Slabunov in a public statement accused the head of the CEC Ella Pamfilova that she “has a direct public pressure on the leadership of the electoral Commission of the Sverdlovsk region”. The purpose of this pressure is to prevent Roizman before the election, said in a statement. In response Pamfilova told RBC that she’s embarrassed to read criticism of the party, which “has always stood for the rule of law, and so having ignored the nomination and did not listen to friendly and timely recommendations.”
The Chairman of the CEC repeatedly stated that the nomination Roizman on elections took place with violations. Her criticism was that the politician was nominated to the Federal Bureau of Yabloko, though, according to the regional electoral Commission, such a decision could only be taken at the Congress or conference of the regional branch of the party. Roizman himself has repeatedly said RBC that binds the claims of the CEC reluctant to admit it before the election.
The nomination politics in the gubernatorial election was accompanied by conflicts in the party. So, initially it was planned that on June 19 it will push Sverdlovsk branch “the Apple”. But a few days before that, the head of local branch of party Yury Pereverzev has declared that resigns, leaves the party and refuses to participate in the nomination of a candidate. According to him, so he responded to the pressure that was exerted on him by the Federal leadership of the Yabloko.
Because of this, the nomination was delayed and occurred only on June 21 in Moscow, at the Congress of the Federal Bureau of Yabloko. After that, Roizman began collecting signatures of municipal candidates required for nomination for the election. By 17 July he, in his own words, gathered about two thirds of the required number of votes. Just for registering as a candidate he had to collect from 126 to 132 signatures.
Informed sources RBC reported that shortly before his nomination to the heads of municipalities in the Sverdlovsk region began an emergency campaign against him. They made a large part of the municipal deputies to give their signatures for the six other candidates in the governors of the region, among them — and the current acting head of the region Evgeny Kuyvashev.
