MOSCOW, July 20. /TASS/. The Association of tour operators of Russia considers the late introduction of resort fees in some regions, due to the fierce competition of domestic and foreign resorts. A message posted on the website ATOR.
“According to tour operators, the introduction of this mechanism in the conditions of tough competition, local resorts with foreign areas is untimely, and will benefit from it is that the private informal sector”, – stated in the message.
Tour operators believe that the new collection will redirect the flow of tourists in the private sector, while defeating tour operators and local hoteliers, however, will not reduce the number of tourists.
“For tourists who annually spend their holidays at Russian resorts, a collection of 50 rubles is unlikely to be the reason for the change of direction of rest, but it will increase the percentage of tourists in the private sector where the fee will not have to pay” – it is told in the message ATOR.
The state Duma on 19 July adopted in the third reading a government bill on hold in some regions of the experiment in the form of the introduction of resort fees. It is hoped that this collection will act in the Crimea, and also in the Altai, Stavropol and Krasnodar regions. Its introduction will contribute to the development of resort infrastructure.
