The Central Bank has sent to the Prosecutor General’s office clarifying the position in respect of the Bank “Ugra”


Moscow. July 21. INTERFAX.RU Bank of Russia sent to the Prosecutor General the materials confirming the position of the regulator in respect of the Bank “Ugra”, reported “Interfax” in the press service of the Central Bank.

The Prosecutor General’s office on 19 July appealed the decision of the Central Bank, which introduced the “Ugra” temporary administration and the moratorium on satisfaction of requirements of creditors (that is insured). The Ministry pointed out that the Central Bank in the implementation of oversight and inspections, “Ugra” has not revealed violations of mandatory standards. Thus, the grounds for the appointment of an interim administration in the Bank are missing.

About results of consideration of the protest, the Prosecutor General’s office asked the Central Bank to inform to 21 July, and during the period of examination is to suspend the activities of the transitional administration and the implementation of insurance payments. Despite the protest of the Prosecutor General, the DIA made the decision to start payments to depositors in the period from 20 July.

“The Bank of Russia on 20 July sent to the Prosecutor General the materials confirming the position of the Bank of Russia in regard to PJSC Bank “Ugra” and the line of action adopted by the Bank of Russia as to protect the interests of depositors and creditors of the Bank, and the requirements of Federal laws,” – said the press service.
