MOSCOW, July 25. /TASS/. The Bank “Ugra” has filed a lawsuit in the Moscow Arbitration court demanding to recognize illegal the decision of the Central Bank. It follows from the filing of arbitration cases.
The statement was on 24 July. Details of the Bank’s claims were not disclosed.
The situation around the “Yugra”
On 10 July, the Bank introduced a temporary administration for six months. In addition, the Central Bank imposed a three-month moratorium on satisfaction of creditors ‘ claims. Appropriate measures were taken, according to the regulator, because of the precarious financial situation of the credit institution. The Bank of Russia, in particular, was suspected of “Ugra” in providing false statements, manipulations with the deposits and the possible withdrawal of assets.
Payments to depositors of “Ugra” is estimated at 170 billion rubles, which is the largest insurance event in the history of the Deposit insurance system in Russia.
July 19, decisions of the Bank was challenged by the Prosecutor General. The Department demanded to cancel the orders of the regulator regarding the Bank “Ugra”. In response, the Bank of Russia sent the documents confirming the legitimacy of their actions.
All agent banks – VTB 24, Sberbank, Russian agricultural Bank, Bank “FC Opening” and Bank “URALSIB” has started insurance payouts to depositors of “Ugra” from July 20, despite the protests of the Prosecutor General.
