MOSCOW, July 26. /TASS/. The volume of payments to depositors of the Bank “Ugra” five days exceeded 100 billion rubles, told reporters at the Agency on insurance of contributions (ASV).
“For the first five days of the insurance indemnity paid 117 thousand depositors of the Bank “Ugra” totaling more than 100 billion rubles, which accounts for 57.9% of the insurance liability of the Agency,” said DIA.
On July 10, the Bank introduced a temporary administration for a period of six months. In addition, the Central Bank imposed a moratorium on satisfaction of requirements of creditors for three months. According to the results of interim administration will decide on the fate of “Ugra” – rehabilitation or revocation of the license.
The contributions to the “Ugra” on June 1 was estimated at 180 billion rubles, of which nearly 170 billion roubles insured in DIA. However, on 19 July – the eve of the start of compensation payments to depositors of the Bank “Ugra” – Prosecutor General’s office challenged the legality of the actions of the regulator and demanded to cancel the orders of the Central Bank on the activities of the Bank “Ugra”. The Prosecutor-General’s ASV has warned about inadmissibility of carrying out of insurance payments to depositors of “Ugra”, reported by TASS source in the banking circles.
Despite the protest of the Supervisory authority, the agent banks – VTB 24, Sberbank, Russian agricultural Bank “FC Opening” and “URALSIB” – July 20 began the insurance payments to depositors of “Ugra”. The total volume of insurance payments is estimated to 169,2 billion rubles In turn, the Central Bank has sent to the Prosecutor General the materials confirming the position of the regulator on the “Ugra” and the harmonization of action as to protect the interests of depositors and creditors of the Bank, and the requirements of Federal laws.
On 24 July, the Bank “Ugra” has directed to Arbitration court of Moscow the claim to the Central Bank. As stated by the dismissed Chairman of the Board of Bank Dmitry Shilyaev, the court planned to challenge the decision of the Central Bank on appointment in the Bank temporary administration and the moratorium on satisfaction of creditors ‘ claims.
