Putin instructed to allocate for the modernization of BAM and Transsib to 100 billion rubles in 2017


MOSCOW, August 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet to provide funding for the modernization of the Baikal-Amur and TRANS-Siberian Railways at the expense of the national welfare Fund in the amount of 100 billion rubles in 2017 and 50 billion rubles in 2018. This is stated in the list of instructions following a meeting on issues of realization of large investment projects in the far East on 3 Aug.

“Given the earlier instructions of the President of the Russian Federation to provide financing of the investment project on modernization of railway infrastructure of the Baikal-Amur and TRANS-Siberian Railways with the development of traffic and carrying capacity at the expense of the national welfare Fund within the limit prescribed for these purposes in 2017-2019 years, in the amount of 100 billion rubles in 2017 and 50 billion rubles in 2018”, – stated in the document published on the Kremlin website.

The report on this assignment should be submitted before 1 November 2017.

In addition, the Cabinet instructed, in conjunction with stakeholders “to ensure the synchronization of the target parameters of the development programs of energy and port infrastructure in the far Eastern Federal district, development plans of the Baikal-Amur and TRANS-Siberian mainlines and development plans of key shippers and consignees in the territory of this district.” The report on this assignment should be submitted before December 1, 2017.
