Moscow. September 25. INTERFAX.RU – the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) Russia is ready to help operators in terms of removing the barriers to business expansion to compensate for the loss of income after the abolition of roaming charges, said the head of FAS Igor Artemyev.
“The abolition of roaming charges will lead to the fact that someone will have to pay more, it is an unacceptable thing. This will not happen. We talked about the fact that we will do everything to facilitate the removal of the unnecessary additional barriers, just focus on this very much, because the company should step forward and lose some resources, we will try to help on behalf of the government, so they expanded their business so they can make more money on circulation,” he said.
In turn, the Minister of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov announced following the meeting in the FAS, before the end of this year, the service in cooperation with the Ministry will prepare a number of normative acts, which will lead to the abolition of roaming charges in Russia.
“Already in 2017 will be able to reach a set of decisions, including amendments which in the beginning of 2018 the concept of “roaming” is completely removed from the operators ‘ tariffs. The detail of this decision will look in a month,” he said. The Minister noted that it is difficult technidata, the process of gradual transition to new model may take the first half of 2018.
Earlier, the FAS gave the “big four” until the end of the year on the abolition of roaming within Russia.
