MOSCOW, 3 Oct. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov, the acting head of the region before the election was appointed Vice-speaker of the state Duma, the Chairman of the faction “United Russia” Vladimir Vasilyev. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.
“To accept the resignation of the head of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulatipov R. G. on their own. Assign Vasiliev Vladimir Abdualievich acting head of the Republic of Dagestan, to the taking office of a person elected the head of the Republic of Dagestan. This decree shall enter into force from the day of its signing”, – stated in the decree, the text of which quotes the press service.
Putin’s meeting with Vasilyev
“This is a very beautiful Republic and her beauty not only in nature, but primarily the people who live there”, – said the head of state at the meeting with Vasilyev in the Kremlin.
He noted that the region has done much to improve the lives of people, however, unresolved problems remain many. “I would really like to see a Republic headed by a person with experience in Federal work, the politician of Federal level, – said Putin. – I was going to ask to perform the duties of the head of the Republic until September of next year.”
Putin said he expects that Vasilyev will be able to show on this post my best qualities and experience gained over the years in the Russian interior Ministry and the state Duma. “Over the years you have certainly become that person, which we have called a political heavyweight. You’re a politician at the Federal level and, in my opinion, such a person need today is the Republic”, – concluded the President.
71-year-old Ramazan Abdulatipov was the head of Dagestan from January 2013.

In 2012, Vasiliev headed the faction “United Russia” in the lower house of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Duma.
