MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Washington has no evidence of alleged Russian interference in presidential elections in the US, otherwise about them would be already known. This was stated on Wednesday by Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, the TV channel RT.
“In today’s Washington, where every other day any information leaks to the media, it is absurd to believe that something so important as evidence of a possible Russian intervention in the American elections, will be kept secret for so long. It is simply impossible. And since no evidence was presented, I don’t think they exist,” – said Ryabkov.
According to him, “many in Washington, especially on Capitol hill, used the Russian-American relations as the weapon against the man who won the presidential election last year”. “But in vain they believe that they can get away with it”, – said a senior diplomat.
He also noted that “such conduct undermines the credibility of the American government, so Russia does not intend to shut eyes to such action in his address”.
The investigation attributed to RF interference in last year’s presidential elections in the United States carried out the FBI and the special Committee on intelligence of the Senate and house of representatives. In mid-may, the U.S. justice Department announced the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller spectaculorum for another one independent of the trial.
The President of the United States Donald trump and his key aides repeatedly rejected suspicions of any improper contacts with Russian officials during the American election campaign. Moscow has many times denied allegations of attempts to influence the presidential elections in the United States.
