Putin said that recently retired governors will receive state awards


NOVO-OGARYOVO, November 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will award the former heads of regions, who resigned in September-October this year.

“Prepared the relevant documents, you will all be presented to the state awards”, – said the head of state in a meeting with former governors of the 10 regions of the Russian Federation.

Putin thanked former governors for the work that was carried out in difficult conditions. “The conditions were not sugar,” he said, referring to the problems associated with external constraints, objective circumstances in the global and Russian economy. “You managed to save the situation, to stabilize, this was no easy task,” stated the head of state. “Have you done everything in your power in order to minimize these negative externalities,” he said.

“Each of you have done the utmost to stabilize the situation and create conditions for the further development of the regions”, – concluded Putin.

The President said that the experience and potential of the former heads of regions, who resigned last September-October, must find application. “We will modify [employment] for every one of you and max will make sure that you could use your potential, your experience, expertise,” – said Putin.

According to Putin, the former heads of regions do not need to interfere in the work of successors, but should help them to take in problems relevant subjects of the Russian Federation.

“On the subject of establishing relations with the new leaders [of the regions] to intervene [in their work], of course, not necessary,” Putin said. However, according to him, former governors can “at the event and if you want just to immerse them [new leaders] in the problems of the region – as you know it, you know.”

In addition, he announced plans to hold a General meeting with new and former heads of regions.

“I will ask the chief of staff Anton Vaino] to organize a joint meeting of those colleagues who finished their work as governors, and those who came to their place, and we will hold a General meeting,” he said.

The President noted that perceives the retired heads of regions as members of their team. “I am always at your disposal, we will always find time to meet and talk”, – assured the President.

The event was attended by the former head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and the ex-governors of the Novosibirsk region Vladimir Gorodetsky, the Ivanovo region Pavel Konkov, the Nenets Autonomous district Igor Koshin, the Samara region Nikolay Merkushkin, the Primorye territory Vladimir Miklushevsky, Omsk region, Viktor Nazarov, the Oryol region Vadim Potomsky, Krasnoyarsk Krai Viktor Tolokonsky and the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev. From among the former governors, who recently resigned at this meeting not only present the former head of the Pskov region Andrei Turchak, who was appointed Secretary of the General Council “United Russia”.
