Accused of abuse of power the mayor of Vladivostok voluntarily resigned


VLADIVOSTOK, November 3. /TASS/. The statement of the head of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev, who is accused of commercial bribery and abuse of office, was on Friday in the personnel office of the city administration, said on Friday the press-service of the Ministry.

According to investigators, in the period of 2009-2014, the mayor of Vladivostok Pushkarev was organized by the acquisition enterprise “Roads of Vladivostok” the group of companies “Vostokcement” building materials in large volume at inflated prices, and “Vostokcement” lead and control the close relatives Pushkarev. Municipal enterprise “Roads Vladivostok” had suffered major damage. Also, according to the investigation, in 2012-2014 Pushkarev gave Lushnikov at least 15 million rubles as of commercial bribery, for which the latter was organized in the interests of Pushkarev and the group of companies “Vostokcement” to acquire from that group of organizations of building materials for execution of municipal contracts for repair and maintenance of roads of Vladivostok.

Currently Pushkarev continues to be in prison in Moscow. As previously reported by TASS, October 26, the Moscow city court upheld the extension of three months of detention.
