RF MFA: equating veterans to the participants of “Maidan” is an insult to the memory of the dead


MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Equating Kiev veterans of the great Patriotic war, the participants of the “Maidan” in accordance with the amendments to the law “On status of veterans” is an insult to the memory of the dead and living veterans. This was stated by the Russian foreign Ministry.

“according to which the text of the law completely removed any mention of the great Patriotic war, which is now replaced by the term “Second world war”. This is a flagrant manifestation of the policy of the Kiev authorities, aimed at the forcible Erasure of the historical past of their own country,” – said in Russian depodesta.

As noted in the foreign Ministry, the new Ukrainian law “equates to the veterans and heroes of world war II to the participants of “Maidan”. “This is an insult to the memory of those killed during the great Patriotic war, defending their Homeland, their homes and families, as well as disrespect for the living veterans,” – said the Agency.
