The Kremlin is watching events in Lugansk


SOCHI, November 22. /TASS/. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on what is happening in Lugansk, but noted that the Kremlin is watching events there.

On a question of journalists, whether there is in the Kremlin an understanding of what forces might be behind the deteriorating situation, Peskov said: “Understanding is.” He declined further comment, citing the fact that it does not have the detailed information. “It would be wrong to do some superficial assessment, so as to clarify and obtain information I’ll share it,” – said the representative of the Kremlin.

“Of course,” – said Peskov on a question, whether the Kremlin for the events in Lugansk.

Speaking about the possibility of combining the LC and the DNI, a spokesman for the Russian leader called it a “question of these republics” and refused to comment on this.

On Tuesday, the head proclaimed Lugansk people’s Republic Igor Carpenter made a statement about the situation in Lugansk, where residents “could see a large number of people in uniform who claim to participate in the exercises by order of the Ministry of internal Affairs of LNR”. He called the situation “a continuation of the staffing changes for the legal removal from office of the Minister of internal Affairs.” Carpenter assured that “the situation is under control of the management of the LC and will soon be fully solved.”

On Tuesday, the Kremlin said that RBC appeared in the message allegedly received from the environment of the Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov, “on the support of certain political forces” in the self-proclaimed Luhansk national Republic (LNR), is not true.

“This is a message based on what is unknown, – said the head of the Department of the presidential Administration on socio-economic cooperation with States – participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Republic of Abkhazia and Republic of South Ossetia Mikhail Arutyunov. – No sources surrounded by Vladislav Surkov could not say, as the events in Lugansk are an internal affair of the LC, and support none of Lugansk, “the Kremlin” not applied”.
