The Kremlin doubts the reliability of data about the US plans to stay in Syria after the defeat of the IG

SOCHI, November 23. /TASS/. The Kremlin doubts the reliability of media reports that the United States is allegedly planning to keep its troops in Syria after the defeat of the Islamic state (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in this country. “We don’t know them [such publications] sources, we don’t know about the reliability of this information, so I would leave it without comments”, – said journalists the press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication of the newspaper The Washington Post.

The representative of the Kremlin did not answer the question, and discussed whether it is the head of the Russian Federation and the USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump during a recent telephone conversation.

He drew attention to the statement adopted on Wednesday following the talks in Sochi, Putin met with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who spoke in favor of preserving the unity of Syria and against “even a hypothetical” violation of the territorial integrity of the country by creating security zones.

As previously, the newspaper The Washington Post, the US government intended to maintain its military presence in the North of Syria after the defeat of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, an organization banned in Russia), including to prevent restore control of government forces supported by Iran.
