Kosachev said that Flynn’s conversation with Kislyak does not prove Russian intervention in the Affairs of the United States

MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. The conversations between the former assistant to the President for national security Michael Flynn and former Russian Ambassador to Washington Sergei Kislyak show, rather about the attempt of the us side affect Moscow’s position, not about the Russian intervention in the Affairs of the United States. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, who commented on the news of CNN, where the Central focus was on Flynn’s confessions.

“Tell Flynn? Just that on the first interrogations had not fully disclosed details of his talks with the then Russian Ambassador to US Kislyak,” the Senator wrote on his page on Facebook, noting that “this is serious from the point of view of ethics of senior officials”, but “do not add nor take away from the point of view of the theory of “Russian conspiracy” against the fundamental principles of American democracy.”

“The conversations referred to, even in the most diseased imagination could not be interpreted as an attempt of the Russian intervention in American Affairs. Just the opposite – it’s Flynn, by the accents of conversations, through Kislyak is trying to influence the Kremlin (which corresponds, incidentally, Flynn’s responsibilities, as well as to listen to the assistant to the President for homeland security is consistent with and complies with the official duties of any of the Russian Ambassador),” – said Kosachev.

He stressed that, nevertheless, “the news served exclusively under a corner of the Russian “intervention”, because in that twisted logic – since Flynn lied, then Russian, of course, also have become a hopeless liar, because lying always and everywhere, but primarily in that they do not interfere.” The Senator noted that the evidence American investigators, things are bad. “Manafort Ukrainian lobbyist, Kouchner – Israeli. And more and no one. Did not get to pull this nonsense on Russia,” Kosachev says.

On Friday, Flynn guilty in court. According to the indictment of spectacular Robert Muller, former assistant to the President lied during questioning by the FBI about the fact that at the end of 2016 in an interview with (at the time) with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, he is not called on the Russian authorities to take measures in response to U.S. sanctions. Flynn then also said she couldn’t remember the words Kislyak on the consent of the Russian side not to make an immediate response.

Flynn has held the position of assistant of the current President of the United States national security in January of this year. However, on 13 February, according to the official version of the White house, he was forced to resign due to the fact that not fully informed the American Vice-President Michael Pence about his contacts with who was at that time the post of Russian Ambassador in Washington Sergei Kislyak.
