MUNICH, February 17. /TASS/. The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov called chatter unsubstantiated accusations of Russian interference in the American presidential campaign of 2016.
“To publish anything – Lavrov said Saturday, speaking at the Munich security conference. – Until we see the facts, all the rest is chatter. Excuse me, for God’s sake, in not very diplomatic terms.”
However, he drew attention to statements by us officials, who denied reports that any country has influenced the results of presidential elections in the United States.
Us authorities on Friday formally charged 13 persons and three entities in Russia for alleged involvement in the intervention in the American presidential election of 2016. According to the documents of the Ministry of justice, employees of the “Agency of Internet research” in 2014 “has started interventions in the political system of the United States, including presidential elections in 2016”. It is noted that these actions did not affect the outcome of the elections.
