The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: the law on the reintegration of Donbass confirmed the intention of Kiev to resolve the conflict by force

MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. The entry into force of the act on the reintegration of Donbass confirms that Kiev intends to resolve the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine only by force, said the Russian foreign Ministry on Saturday. Russia hopes that “Western curators” of Kiev will not allow the implementation of disastrous for the country scenario, noted in comments published on the foreign Ministry website.

“February 24, 2018 entered into force a controversial law on the so-called “reintegration of Donbass”. Thus in Kiev finally confirmed its focus on a military solution to the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

According to Russian diplomats, the signing of this document by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko freed the hands of the “party of war” and “actually undermined the Minsk agreements”. It is the refusal of the Kiev authorities from the search for a peaceful settlement of the conflict and direct dialogue with the authorities proclaimed republics, and the law not only creates the conditions for the forcible seizure of uncontrolled Kiev territories of Donbass, but also “legalizes the use of Ukrainian army against the civilian population”.

The foreign Ministry noted that “remained albeit fragile, but the hope” that the Ukrainian President personally participated in the development of the Minsk agreement and has repeatedly stated commitment to these arrangements “still come to their senses”. “Miracle, however, did not happen. The stroke of a pen the President of Ukraine, in fact, signed the verdict to Minsk “complex of measures,” – said the Russian foreign Ministry.

The foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that the entry into force of the law on the reintegration coincided with the anniversary of the coup of 2014. This, according to Russian diplomats, it can be concluded that “the current regime in Kiev came to power through an armed coup, do not accept other methods except violence.”

The Russian foreign Ministry fear that the application of this law would entail a serious escalation of the conflict in the Donbass. However, diplomats hope that “Western curators” Ukraine “will be able to use their influence on Kiev” and not allow “implementation is disastrous for the Ukrainian state scenario” which is fraught with unpredictable consequences for stability and security throughout Europe.
