MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. The Board of Directors of Norilsk Nickel approved the owner of En+, and RUSAL Oleg Deripaska as one of the candidates to the Board of Directors of MMC, the report said Norilsk Nickel.
RUSAL owns 27.8% of Norilsk Nickel shares.
The list of candidates of 13 members (the current number), new of which, apart from Deripaska, is the CEO of ACG Amur Capital Group Artem Volynets, as well as independent Director of LUKOIL and Sistema Roger Llewellyn Munnings. In the list of candidates there is no valid independent Director Prinsloo Gerhard.
Deripaska will replace the current independent Directors of Rushana Bagaudinova.
Norilsk Nickel is the world’s largest producer of Nickel and palladium and one of the largest producers of platinum and copper. Norilsk Nickel also produces cobalt, rhodium, silver, gold, iridium, ruthenium, selenium, tellurium and sulfur. The principal activities of the group of companies “Norilsk Nickel” are prospecting, exploration, extraction, enrichment and processing of minerals, manufacture, marketing and sale of base and precious metals.
“RUSAL” Oleg Deripaska owns a 27.8 percent stake in Norilsk Nickel, the other major shareholder GMK “Interros” Vladimir Potanin (32.9 percent).
