MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. The Rosselkhoznadzor on April 10 temporarily stops the supply of pigs and pork products from Belarus in connection with the spread of African swine fever (ASF), said the Russian Ministry.
“In connection with the discovery of eight cases of detection of genetic material of the virus of African swine fever (ASF) in Belarusian meat products, the Rosselkhoznadzor has to impose temporary restrictions on import of pork products from the entire territory of Belarus from April 10, 2018”, – said the Rosselkhoznadzor.
As noted in the Department, the restrictions apply to live pigs and their genetic material, pork and raw pork meat products and by-products, finished products made of pork or containing pork in the composition of raw meat used for feed production with the exception of goods processed by technology, which destroys the virus. The ban applies to deliveries of meat of wild boars, rogakopita, leather, intestinal materials, bristles, hunting trophies from susceptible to the virus species of animals, not have undergone a full taxidermy treatment, all kinds of swine feed and feed additives, excluding additives chemical and microbiological synthesis and prepared feed subjected to heat treatment.
The Rosselkhoznadzor has to take restrictive measures in view of the fact that after the study of samples of meat products of the Belarusian company “Gomel meat plant”, identified the genome of the ASF virus in sausage “Krakowska” sausage “Garlic Relish”.
Thus, according to the representatives of the Republic, outbreaks of the disease in the country is not fixed, according to Rosselkhoznadzor. The specialists of the Ministry believe that the presence of ASF virus genome in products not talking about the need to do research in animals and raw materials in the production process in enterprises, and use in processing of meat of sick animals.
Enterprise “Gomel meat plant”, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor in products also found the bacteria Listeria. In this regard, the Rosselkhoznadzor took a decision to temporarily limit from 10 April 2018 the import into Russia of products with this enterprise.
Rosselkhoznadzor said that the restrictions will apply to determine the epizootic situation in Belarus, negotiations and implementation of the regionalization of the veterinary service of the Republic.
