The ECB kept its benchmark interest rate for loans at zero

TASS, April 26. The European Central Bank (ECB) kept its benchmark interest rate on loans at a zero level. The decision was made following the meeting of the ECB governing Council, reported Thursday on the regulator’s website.

In addition, the Deposit rate remained at minus 0.4 percent, the rate on margin loans – at 0.25%.

The ECB also reminded that from January 2018, the total size of the asset purchase programme of quantitative easing (QE) reduced from €60 billion to €30 billion a month. The program will continue at least until September 2018.
