Putin instructed to ensure a steady reduction in emergency housing by 2024


MOSCOW, may 7. /TASS/ Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed by 2024 to reduce the amount of uninhabitable housing. The relevant measure is contained in the signed decree “On the national goals and strategic objectives development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024”, published on the Kremlin website.

“The government of the Russian Federation in the development of national project in housing and the urban environment to assume that in 2024 should : ensure a sustainable reduction in uninhabitable housing”, – stated in the document.

To fulfil this mandate in the decree assigned the task of creating mechanisms for relocating citizens from unfit housing, providing enjoyment of their housing rights, established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Currently, resettlement of citizens from failing housing stock are the Fund of assistance to reforming housing and communal services and the Ministry of construction of Russia. Resettlement of citizens is carried out from the housing stock, recognized the emergency until January 1, 2012. At the same time is the development of a continuous mechanism for the resettlement of dilapidated housing, planned resettlement of approximately 2 million sq m per year.
