Putin: Russia is interested in building partnerships with countries of the Islamic world


MOSCOW, may 10. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a greeting to participants of the X International economic summit “Russia – Islamic world”, noting that Russia supports the efforts of Islamic countries to strengthen the principles of mutual benefit in international economic relations. The telegram of the head of state posted on Thursday on the Kremlin website.

“Russia supports the efforts by your countries to strengthen the principles of justice, equality and mutual benefit in international economic relations, at the prevention of unfair competition, dictatorship and the use of illegal sanctions,” – said in greeting.

Putin has confirmed “interest in further building a constructive partnership between our country and the Islamic countries”. “In this context we attach great importance to the work of the strategic vision group “Russia – Islamic world” headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov,” – said the head of state.

The President noted that the meeting participants will discuss various aspects of economic and scientific-technological modernization and ways of combating poverty and overcoming the humanitarian consequences of conflicts and crises.

X international economic summit “Russia – Islamic world Forum” is held from 10 to 12 may in Kazan. A meeting is held with the support of the Federation Council and the government of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the summit Russia will host the exhibition Halal Expo dedicated to products and services created according to Islamic canons.
