Replacement of the Ukrainian engines of the aircraft be-200 will begin in 2020

ROSTOV-ON-DON, may 19. /TASS/. Taganrog aviation scientific-technical complex (TANTK) named after Beriev, which makes amphibious aircraft be-200, in 2020 plans to put on the plane first engine of the Russian-French SaM146 production to replace the Ukrainian engine D-436. This was reported on Saturday to journalists the General Director – General designer of JSC “Beriev. G. M. Beriev” Yury Grudinin.

“The process has already started (transition from the engine of the Ukrainian production of D-436 engine of the Russian-French SaM146 production – approx. TASS). We work together with the UEC (United engine Corporation – approx. The TASS) on the implementation of this project. We are now arranging the technical project, working together with the French side is through JDC. The project was started and planned in 2020 to put [on] the plane SaM146, slowly we will go”, – he told, answering a question of the correspondent of TASS.

However, he said that the plant does not refuse the cooperation with Ukrainian engine manufacturer – the company “Motor Sich”, “because we have airplanes that are in the MOE, these engines fly”. “We are probably now the first company in the UKA [United aircraft Corporation] that offers a single aircraft – two engine. There are “Motor Sich” [the engine D-436], and there are SaM146 – we have alternative. We may at any time make engine replacement, including those aircraft that are in operation,” said Grudinin, adding that working with the company “Motor Sich” “is rough”.

As reported in February, the Deputy Minister of industry of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov, the Ukrainian authorities banned the supply to Russia of engines D-436 for use in civil aircraft. Engines D-436 produced the Zaporozhye enterprise “Motor Sich”. Currently they are installed on the aircraft an-148 (going to the Voronezh aircraft plant), and amphibious aircraft be-200 (collected at the facilities of Beriev. Beriev).

Earlier in TANTK reported that this transition will not lead to changes in the technical characteristics of the aircraft.
