Crimean wine producer received the highest award in London for the first time in 50 years


SIMFEROPOL, may 23. /TASS/. Large winery in the Crimea Alma Valley won three silver and three bronze medals in the annual international competition International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), announced the press service of the company.

“The total score awarded by the international jury praised the Crimean wine, very close to the “gold” bracket… In the nearly 50-year history of the IWSC’s first case of Crimean wines award such high honors,” – said in the message.

From the Russian companies, except for Alma Valley, at the IWSC competition was attended by such Russian wine company as “Abrau-Durso”, “Divnomorskoe”, “Estate Sikora”, “Vina Vedernikov”, “Chateau Taman” and “Sparkling wines”.

“Despite the fact that the Crimean economy Alma Valley – the youngest of them, he managed to take a record high for the prestigious contest. It is significant that the high awards received by not just the fault of the reserve level, but two wines from the varietal, more affordable, line”, – noted in press service.

IWSC is one of the oldest, independent and influential wine competitions, his medals indicate the status of the wine and indicate the correct trend of development of the Russian winemaking in General.

Wine hozyastvo Alma Valley in the Crimea owns 250 hectares of vineyards and also the processing plant, and produces about 1.5 million bottles of wine a year and has a potential production capacity of 3 million bottles. Collection of Alma Valley has 35 wines of seven different lines.
