Klimov believes that the U.S. is not interested in removing tension on the Korean Peninsula

TOKYO, may 25. /TASS/. United States in the global strategic plan are not interested in removing tension on the Korean Peninsula. This opinion on Friday expressed to journalists by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Andrei Klimov, who is visiting Tokyo.

“In Washington, in global terms, the strategic plan were not interested [in reducing tensions] not under [Barack] Obama, or to Obama, or now. Any withdrawal of the real tensions on the Korean Peninsula removes the motivation for the deployment of us military bases in Japan and South Korea”, – he said, commenting on the cancellation of the summit between U.S. President Donald trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN.

Klimov stressed that in case of normalization of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, “the Americans lose the ability to control these bases are far larger area – namely Russia and China”, so it goes far beyond the situation on the Korean Peninsula directly. Speaking directly about the cancellation of the summit, which was held on June 12 in Singapore, Klimov has expressed the view that its abolition was in terms of media more sensational than if the meeting of the leaders of the two countries really took place.

Earlier Thursday, the press service of the White house released the message trump, Kim Jong Ynu, in which the US President informed the leader of North Korea that has decided to refuse participation in the plan for 12 June the bilateral meeting in Singapore.
