MOSCOW, may 28. /TASS/. US business circles have made a number of references to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the request to soften the law on counter. This was stated on Monday the Director of the Department of North America of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Georgy Borisenko, speaking in the Federation Council at session of Committee on international Affairs.
“In the United States comes the reaction from the business community, because a large number of major American companies actively operating on the Russian market since Soviet times and would like to stay here, he said. In these circles it caused noticeable tension were a number of appeals from the separate large companies, from the U.S.-Russia business Council the President of Russia with a request to look at the first edition in which the law was made in April, so maybe it softened”.
According to Borisenko, the document in its current form is optimal, providing the opportunity to further Russian President and government to identify specific areas and actions which could have an impact.
“As for the reaction of the US administration, then a clear statement at the moment, has not followed yet, – said the diplomat. – But in General we hear in conversations from our American colleagues that Washington has noticed that in Russia adopted such legislation, and closely monitor how the process of adoption, obviously, will see how it will be entered into force.”
