DUSHANBE, may 31. /TASS/. Russia and Tajikistan signed three documents on cooperation at the end of his official visit to Dushanbe, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
In the presence of heads of governments of the two countries signed an intergovernmental agreement on conditions of activities of secondary school number 7 in Kulyab, a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Federal service for state registration, cadastre and cartography and the State Committee on land management and geodesy of Tajikistan, and a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of competition policy between the Federal Antimonopoly service and Antimonopoly service under the government of Tajikistan.
Tajik Prime Minister highly appreciated the results of the official visit of Medvedev in Dushanbe. According to him, the negotiations “were held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding”. “We discussed topical issues on the agenda of bilateral relations and exchanged views of the parties on the prospects for further development”, – he said. Rasulzoda noted that “the foundations of the negotiations were the issues of economic cooperation and development”. “We agreed to intensify their joint efforts to further expand economic relations, including in the framework of the intergovernmental Commission on trade – economic cooperation”.
Also the Russian Prime Minister at the talks with his Tajik counterpart Governorate rasulzoda discussed the aspects of bilateral cooperation of Russia and Tajikistan.
The head of the Russian government, which on Thursday held the main events of the official visit to Tajikistan earlier in the day met and talked with the President of the country Emomali Rahmon, and then joined the negotiations with rasulzoda.
“Emomali Sharipovich [Rahmon] is now quite elaborated on the state of our relationship, so I think we now go through the individual strokes, to give instructions to the agencies,” – said Medvedev at the beginning of his conversation with his Tajik counterpart.
In turn, Prime Minister of Tajikistan noted the strategic nature of Russian-Tajik relations. According to him, they cover almost all key areas, from politics to investment and trade.
“Russian-Tajik relations cover almost all key areas of cooperation,” he said.
Rasulzoda stressed that the Russian direction has a special place in the politics of Tajikistan, and the Republic’s authorities attach great importance to developing relations with Russia.
For his part, Medvedev said he discussed cooperation between the two countries with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and now on the negotiation topics can be addressed more specifically below, in the end, were given instructions to the departments.
Labor migrants in Russia
The heads of the governments of the two countries considered the possibility of increasing the period of registration of labor migrants from Tajikistan in Russia.
“The parties discussed issues related to the stay of the Tajik labor migrants in Russia”, – said rasulzoda at a press conference following the talks.
According to him, chairmen of governments, “outlined further action to address issues associated with increasing the term of registration of citizens of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation, the simplification of requirements and deadlines for obtaining a patent for work”.
Prime Minister of Tajikistan also added that “the parties discussed the subject of the legal status of family members of labour migrants and students studying in Russian universities”.
Cooperation in the energy sector
Medvedev said “quite possible” the inclusion of the project Sangtuda-1 in the regional energy project Central Asia – South Asia (CASA-1000).
“I think it [Sangtuda-1] is our most important project, the most ambitious, it is necessary for our countries”, – said the head of the Russian Cabinet to journalists following Russian-Tajik talks. He acknowledged that the project “there are certain problems associated with the financing.” In this case, Medvedev noted that “forward-looking station” and she “may engage in regional projects”.
The expansion of trade
Russia and Tajikistan have agreed on measures to increase turnover.
“The volume of bilateral trade in the first quarter increased by 20%. This trend it is necessary to consolidate,” said Medvedev.
According to him, the sides agreed on further steps that could support export development and to intensify work on promising projects.
Cooperation in the field of education
Medvedev also noted that Russia and Tajikistan intend to expand cooperation in the field of education. “For the current academic year the Republic allocated 618 state scholarships, local schools used Russian educational programs and standards”, – he said.
According to him, Russia will continue to send in the leading schools of Tajikistan teachers. “From 1 September this year there will be over 50 teachers [from Russia] on various subjects,” – said the Prime Minister.
