The President of Russia Vladimir Putin considers the initiative of the President of Ukraine on Saturday held telephone talks as a signal of interest of Kiev in the settlement of the situation in Ukraine. About the head of the Russian state said at a press conference following his visit to China.

“Since the initiative of this conversation came from the Ukrainian side, I think this has already manifested interest in settlement, in any case, I certainly hope so,” said Putin.

The Russian President added that he discussed during a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart issues related to the extradition of people held both parties, and also discussed the fate of the Russian journalist Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested in Kiev.

“To talk about how this issue will be resolved, it is premature, I would have abstained in the first place, so there’s nothing to break and nothing to stop it,” – said Putin.
