MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. The state Duma and the Bundestag form a large inter-parliamentary Commission, the first meeting can pass this fall. This was reported on Thursday to journalists in a press-service of the lower house of the Russian Parliament.
“The state Duma and the Bundestag, to form a large inter-parliamentary Commission”, – have informed in a press-service, adding that its first meeting can pass in the autumn of 2018.
As co-chairs of the Commission, according to the press service, the Russian side the work will be headed by first Deputy Chairman of state Duma, United Russia Alexander Zhukov, the German side – the Vice-President of the Bundestag, social Democrat Thomas Oppermann.
It is noted that the possible areas of work of the Commission can become security issues, digital economy development, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the development of regional and inter-parliamentary relations.
As recalled in the press service of the lower house of Parliament, about the necessity of creation of the Commission, said Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin during a meeting with a delegation of parliamentarians of Bundestag, headed by Vice-President Thomas Oppermann, which was held on 8 June 2018 in Moscow. According to Volodina, such a body is needed to promote more effective working between the two parliaments. The proposal of the speaker of the state Duma was supported by the German side, added in the press service of the chamber.
