Volodin: the state Duma deputies can speak in the chambers of the U.S. Congress

MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. The ability of the speeches of Duma deputies in both chambers of the U.S. Congress were discussed Tuesday at a meeting with a delegation of us lawmakers. This was stated on Wednesday by the Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

“Based on the fact that the decision was made to start a parliamentary dialogue, which involves the exchange of delegations and speeches of Duma deputies [in Congress] that would have stated its position”, – said the speaker. “They [the congressmen] were invited and told that it would be good for the deputies [of the Duma] spoke with his Russian position, he explained. – Now wait for the invitation and begin to discuss the format we discussed it.”

To the question about the possible timing of such interventions Volodin replied that they could not be held “soon”. “But given that [soon] leave, most likely, it will take time closer to the fall, he said. – And now we have a very busy schedule”.

“We believe that we will need to exchange views on the program and already the basis of a program forming the delegation. Talking about individuals does not go”, – said the Chairman of the state Duma.

Black lists of parliamentarians

Volodin added that considers it necessary to move away from black lists of parliamentarians of the Russian Federation and the United States.

“We have this theme did not exist, we have removed the brackets”, – said the speaker reporters Wednesday, responding to a question, touched on the issue of sanctions lists of lawmakers on his meeting with a delegation of the U.S. Congress on Tuesday. “If we talk about lists, it was invented on a hot head, our colleagues from Congress. Need to chill and get away from these lists,” he said.

“We need to get away from these lists, raise the curtain, to communicate more – confirmed Volodin. – Well, yesterday, Congress took this step”.

“We have always been open. Russia – a country that shows friendship, mutual understanding, absence of double standards, non-interference in the Affairs of sovereign States. We talked about this”, he concluded.

The U.S. Congress delegation is on a visit to Russia from June 30 to July 5, the visit comes amid the preparation of the Russian-American summit on 16 July in Helsinki. 3 Jul American parliamentarians met with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and state Duma deputies and Federation Council members.
