Lavrov: Iran has confirmed that he will emerge from nuclear deal

VIENNA, July 6. /TASS/. Iran held in Vienna the Ministerial meeting of the Joint Commission for implementation of the Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) has confirmed that it is not going to get out of the nuclear deal, despite leaving Washington. This was stated to journalists by the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following the meeting.

“Iran has confirmed in response to the calls from all the other participants that he is committed to the agreement, which AGREEMENT is attached. This means that Iran will continue to cooperate with the IAEA, all of his called,” said the Minister.

According to him, Iranian foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that “with unilateral action of the USA on the actual demolition agreement,” Tehran has also formally have the right and reason to withdraw from the agreement, but Iran “will not use”. “It’s all welcomed. I think that is a responsible position,” – said the Russian foreign Minister.

“I hope that we in these positions will remain and, most importantly, that Iran will remain,” he added.

The politicization of the process

The meeting participants believe that the US withdrawal from AGREEMENT dictated by the desire to politicize the situation around the Tehran, Lavrov added.

“Of course, the session was devoted to the situation around the agreement on Iran’s nuclear program after the unilateral US withdrawal from this agreement in violation of the obligations that Washington has assumed, not only in the framework of this plan, but under the unanimously adopted UN security Council resolution. All agreed that this is a significant breach of the terms, which were agreed and allowed really, greatly ease the tensions from the point of view of the military-political situation in the region, from the point of view of strengthening non-proliferation and the normalization of trade and economic ties with Iran,” – said Lavrov.

“The agreement has worked effectively for three years, Iran has thoroughly fulfilled all of its obligations. It is certified and continues to be certified by the IAEA. Therefore, all agreed once again that Washington’s move was not dictated by any specific circumstances but the desire to re-politicize this process, the situation around Iran in General and to put forward new conditions for Iran, which are irrelevant to the problems that existed around Iran’s nuclear program”, – said the Minister.

He noticed that Iran is the most inspected country by the IAEA. “The IAEA has unprecedented access to all the objects that somehow could be associated with the military aspects of nuclear program”, – said the head of depodesta. “To jeopardize such an important agreement, which allows to ensure the non-proliferation regime firmly and securely in a very imprudent and risky,” Lavrov said.

Trade and economic cooperation

Experts of the Joint Commission for the implementation of the AGREEMENT will be on a continuous basis to examine measures to ensure economic and trade cooperation with Iran under us sanctions, Lavrov added.

“We agreed, though it was difficult to do, given the not quite and not always overlapping interests of the European Troika, China and Russia, and Iran itself that the mechanism of the Joint Commission at the level of experts will be in continuous mode to consider options that will allow, regardless of the U.S. decision to continue to adhere to the obligations, all undertaken in the framework of the AGREEMENT, and provide such methods of trade-economic relations with Iran, which will not depend on the whim of the United States,” – said the Minister.

“Yes, the threat of the extraterritorial application of sanctions Washington imposes in the next month as the first wave, and then in November there will be a second wave in the form of a total ban on purchases of Iranian oil, already from the USA sounded. All agree that it is absolutely illegitimate practice, it can not be taken for granted, – said Lavrov. But, of course, is a line that is unlikely to change.”

“There is a serious struggle in the economic and in the political sphere. Have within a continuous mechanism for experts to develop such methods of trade-economic ties, which will not create problems for economic operators of those countries that retained its participation in this agreement,” – said the head of the Russian depodesta.

According to him, it is fundamentally important, “the methods of trade and other economic projects with Iran’s participation was quite impressive in volume.” “Because Iran was on this arrangement in exchange for full liberalization of the conditions in which he found himself during the period of validity of the sanctions regime,” – said the Minister.

He also drew attention that in the circumstances the European countries “want to provide for including in the complex of their economic interests and their political obligations.” “To make [work in Iran] is somehow impossible, you can only create the conditions that will be beneficial for them,” – concluded Lavrov.
