MOSCOW, July 9. /TASS/. The Kremlin is concerned about the continuing poisoning in the UK, the situation is a danger for all of Europe.
This was stated to journalists the press-Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
“We regret in connection with a British citizen [don Sturges, which is July 8, died after poisoning with nerve substance in the British city of Amesbury], we remain deeply concerned at continuing manifestations of toxic substances in the UK. This is a danger not only for Britons but for all the rest of the Europeans,” he said.
The press Secretary reminded that Russia, “based on the great danger of such manifestations, from the very beginning offered the British vis-a-vis cooperation in the investigation of the circumstance of what happened in Salisbury”. “But, unfortunately, we are not reciprocal in this regard”, he added.
Thus, according to him, the Kremlin was unaware of the fact that “Russia is somehow associated” with the incident in Amesbury. Peskov stressed that such accusations would be absurd.
“We do not know, someone mentioned Russia in vain against this second incident, it is unclear what Russia once was mentioned, somehow associated with it. We believe that in any case it would be quite absurd” – said the representative of the Kremlin.
Sands also expressed confidence that the incident in Amesbury should not affect the preparation of the forthcoming summit of leaders of Russia and the United States. “You know, this is not the summit, nothing, – said the representative of the Kremlin. Is rather, shall we say, British issue and the problem, as far as great Britain is interested in a real investigation.”
