Onishchenko: the baseless accusations of the Russian Federation to the OSCE PA deserve medical evaluation

BERLIN, July 11. /TASS/. The accusations against Russia made during the session of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly, is not supported by the facts.

This was stated on Wednesday, the member of the Russian delegation, state Duma Deputy, former chief sanitary doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko, speaking at the closing plenary session.

“Sweeping accusations without facts and emotions deserve only literary or medical evaluation,” – said the politician responded to criticism against the Russian Federation, including in connection with the situation in Ukraine. “Today in my country of 3.2 million Ukrainians, my ethnic kin, work, live and feed my country,” he said.

In particular, according to Onishchenko, 2 million people is “people who work” in Russia and make a huge contribution to Ukraine’s GDP due to the fact that Russia has not changed at the time the border regime with the neighbouring state. Another 1.2 million people are refugees from Donbas, he said. “Really, killing people in the Donbass, but that the people who at the behest of the man who calls himself head of state, shooting at kindergartens, schools,” – said the Deputy.

At this point, acting speaker of the Assembly, the representative of Georgia Giorgi Tsereteli tried to interrupt the Russian delegate to give the floor to other speakers, however, Onishchenko went on with his speech. “We the Chairman of our Assembly chose not to, that he manipulated and directed. He is the guarantor of compliance with the Protocol that exists. But this Protocol provides for the equitable participation of all countries”, – emphasized he.

According to Onishchenko, the acting head of the OSCE PA “manipulated with the counting of votes, manipulate the order of speeches and so forth.” “Russia is a great country, it will not accept the fact that she kicked around”, he warned. “We are ready to discuss any issues, but with facts. And in this historic building [the Reichstag]… the role that we instructed our people to perform to the fullest, and not to engage in the political ping-pong”, – concluded the Deputy.

Session of the OSCE PA is held in the Reichstag building, where now is the seat of the Bundestag. It involved about 300 parliamentarians from 57 OSCE countries. The Russian delegation is headed by Vice-speaker of the state Duma Pyotr Tolstoy, who oversees the lower chamber of the international cooperation.
