MOSCOW, July 20. /TASS/. The Russian Ambassador in Washington Anatoly Antonov said on Friday that he was unaware of the invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the United States this fall.
“I am in Moscow. How can I confirm or deny? – said Antonov, speaking at the International discussion club “Valdai”. – I no letter [invitation] is not seen. I don’t know.”
As announced on Thursday, the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders, President of the United States Donald trump instructed his assistant for national security John Bolton to extend an invitation to the Russian leader to visit Washington in the fall. The white house refused to clarify the TASS possible dates or to give any further details on these plans.
16 July in Helsinki was the first full meeting of Putin and trump. The leaders talked one on one for a little over two hours, then they were joined by members of delegations.
